For more than 30 years, we are an emblematic place of the city that, along our 10 hectares, we have formed a community that exhibits, appreciates and respects biodiversity, conservation, culture and nature.

inauguration of the Botanical Garden
Due to its privileged location, during the first years it was the object of the desire of real estate developers, but civil society did not allow it

1996
The botanical and zoological society was added
To the cause of the engineer Murillo Depraect and formally requested the Government to grant the integral administration of the space.

TODAY
It is one of the most important gardens of Mexico and the continent
It is configured on four action axes:

Conservation
Promotes actions for the conservation of threatened native species
Research
Operates and manages a germplasm bank and a herbarium registered with the Index Herbarium, which internationally recognizes herbariums oriented to scientific research
Education
It promotes educational programs on botany and develops programs and spaces for artistic and cultural expression. It also has a library
Exhibition
The Garden features a botanical collection of over 1,000 species and a contemporary art collection of 39 works.
